Jay Stowers, CPCU, ARM
OWNER / MANAGING PARTNER
Jay has over 25 years of experience in quality and risk consulting, including his post as a Vice President with Aon Risk Services, the world’s second-largest insurance broker. In 2005, Jay founded Senior Risk, which has grown into one of the premier quality and clinical consulting firms in the United States. Senior Risk has provided consulting services to over 500 operators, including assisted living, memory care, independent, skilled, and continuous care retirement communities. Jay is recognized by many as the leading risk management consultant in senior living. He has personally conducted over 2,500 onsite quality assessment reviews in all 50 states and presented on various related topics at the national and state levels.

Teresa Allmond, BSN, BSHA, RN-BC, LNCC
CLINICAL AND RISK MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
Teresa specializes in risk management, operations management, and geriatric nurse consulting, utilizing her 20-plus years of experience operating senior care communities. Prior to offering consulting services, she developed and managed skilled care, hospital-based transitional care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities. Teresa has direct multi-site experience, managing over 80 communities throughout the United States. She is an RN with compact recognition and is board certified as both a gerontological nurse and legal nurse consultant.

William J. Hiller Jr.
CLAIMS CONSULTANT
Bill has over 30 years of experience in various aspects of the insurance industry, including claims consulting, workers compensation, and brokerage. Prior to Senior Risk, Bill enjoyed a career in the insurance brokerage arena, which included working for local, regional, and large national insurers such as Marsh and Aon. His clients benefit from his techniques and proven methods.

Armida Wilson, LVN, LPN, C-AL
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND CLINICAL CONSULTANT
Armida Wilson has over 25 years of experience working in senior living. She has held roles as a Senior Regional Director of Resident Care for several large assisted living and memory care providers, where she helped support communities in multiple states by monitoring delivery of resident care as well as ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies and procedures. Armida has participated in the rollout of electronic health record software, including staff training and technical support, for multiple providers. Since 2020, she has provided consultive services for Senior Risk, including onsite quality assessments and HUD-required risk assessments. Armida has completed numerous quality desk reviews, consisting of reviewing electronic health records for at-risk residents, incident reports, completing incident analysis, and reviewing risk management best practices.

Karen Garman
RISK ANALYST AND QA CONSULTANT
With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Karen brings a variety of expertise to the table. She served as Director of Risk Management at a major military hospital for six years as well as being a member of the Total Quality Management Faculty and TQM Council. Karen worked four years at the corporate office of a hospice company with 29 centers in 14 states. Since 2009, Karen’s role with Senior Risk has included conducting onsite and phone reviews of senior living facilities, aiding in senior living software development, writing educational materials, completing claims analysis, and many other special projects. She also consulted with organizations to aid them in successfully preparing for their Joint Commission surveys.
